If you want to know some general facts about Spain, you can visit the following websites:
Asturias

Surrounded by a mountain range and protected by the Cantabrian Sea, you can reach Asturias by land, by sea and by air (on any of the flights offered by several companies that land at the international airport of Asturias). Asturias has a population of nearly one million, one hundred thousand inhabitants unevenly distributed throughout its seventy-eight councils. Of these, Gijón, Oviedo and Avilés are the most densely populated.
You may also visit Asturias using your imagination, picturing an old hidden kingdom with green valleys and blue seas. Nature, in Asturias, has been an inseparable part of its history. Its particular borders, steep mountains and turbulent seas has conserved the customs, culture and legends of this old kingdom of spectacular beauty.
Oviedo
The city of Oviedo, capital of Asturias, is situated in central Asturias at the foot of the Naranco sierra combining a prosperous urban area with a monumental heritage which bears witness to a past rich in history. Oviedo is the capital of the Principality and the political, administrative, cultural and commercial centre of the region. Most University centres are located in Oviedo.
